Funeral services for Willard D. Crumpton, 83, of Ringgold, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, November 12, 2023 at the United Pentecostal Church of Ringgold, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Milton Vining, Tex Pruett and Andy Kerley. Burial will follow in Rocky Mount Cemetery, Ringgold, LA. Visitation will be Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at United Pentecostal Church, Ringgold, LA under the direction of Rockett Funeral Home, Ringgold, LA.

Willard was born April 30, 1940 in Ringgold, LA and passed away at his home in Ringgold, LA on November 9, 2023. He served the Lord faithfully at the United Pentecostal Church of Ringgold, LA and dearly loved his church family. At the tender age of 10, he received the Holy Ghost and was baptized in Jesus' name.

In his lifetime, he was a butcher at Jitney Jungle and retired from Arch Chemical (formerly known as Olin Chemical). Willard was a United States Veteran, serving in the Army. He was well known for raising some mighty fine squirrel dogs and won many competitions.

He was preceded in death by his lovely wife, Sweetie Mae Plunkett Crumpton whom he had been married to for 63 years at her passing. Willard and Mae's only child, Ricky Crumpton, passed at the early age of 18. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Chloe Crumpton; sister, Willie Martinius; brother-in-law, Drew Carter and great nephew, Nolan Carter.

Left to cherish his memory include his sister, LaVonia Carter; nephew, Randall Carter and wife, Barbara; nieces, Debbie Humphrey and husband, Tommy and Carolyn Fowler and many more nieces, nephews, cousins and wonderful friends.

Pallbearers will be Randall Carter, Scott Carter, Austin Carter, Brandon Rowell, Shawn Rowell and Jeffrey Humphrey. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Humphrey, Steven Douglas and Cliff Johnson.

The family would like to personally thank all of Willard's family, friends and caretakers that looked after him and prayed for him.
