Martha Abernathy age 96, of Nashville, TN passed away November 7, 2023.
Inseparable in life, she has now reunited with her twin sister, Marie, in heaven. Also, preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Maude Abernathy, sisters Elise Rost (Duane) Emily Burrus (Bill), and brother David Abernathy.

She was very proud of her 10 nieces and nephews, Greg Rost (Judy), Keith Rost (Theresa), Jan Rost, Ray Rost, Amy Burrus Flynn (Pat), Beth Burrus Little (Len), Sue Burrus Pinsly (Gary), Dr. Grady Burrus (Kathy), Mark Abernathy, Pam Abernathy VanDyke (Bude); 19 great-nieces and nephews; 22 great-great-nieces and nephews.

She was raised in Pulaski, TN, graduated from Martin Methodist College, and moved to Nashville with her sister, Marie. They worked side by side for 32 years at the United Methodist Publishing House, attended Belmont United Methodist Church, were avid Vandy Basketball fans with season tickets for 60+ years, supported numerous charities, enjoyed local theater, concerts, bowling and travel, visiting 47 of the 50 states.

The family wishes to thank Pam Ferguson for the many years she lovingly cared for Martha in her home. Also, our thanks to the staff at Brookdale Belle Meade for their amazing care for the last 3 years.

There will be a graveside service November 11, 2023 at 10 am at Maplewood Cemetery in Pulaski, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Pulaski First United Methodist Church, 200 W. Jefferson ST., Pulaski, TN 38478
