Eudee Storie Hicks, 82, of Norwood Hollow Rd. Banner Elk died Sunday, April 2, 2006 in the Life Care Center of Banner Elk. Daughter of the late George and Mae Cook Storie she attended the Church of Christ in Banner Elk. She was preceded in death by her husband Proffit Hicks, brothers Harold, Hal, Vance and Dallas Storie and sisters Helen, Gladys and Ruby. Survivors include sons; Carl Storie and wife Bette of Candler, NC, and James Tommy Hicks of Banner Elk, grandchildren Wayne Storie, John Storie and wife Kim and Becki Cooper and husband Rick all of Candler, NC. She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services for Mrs. Hicks will be conducted at 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 5 in the Church of Christ in Banner Elk with Mr. Don Iverson officiating. Interment will follow in the Cook Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Family and friends are invited to gather after the graveside service at the church fellowship hall.
