On December 6, 1951, she was united in marriage to Noah L. Rodes, who preceded her in death on November 1, 2022. She was a member of Pike Mennonite Church.
Ada was a homemaker, and enjoyed hospitality, sewing and making many quilts. She also crocheted over 500 lap robes which she donated to hospice and gave to family and friends.
Surviving are her children, Marie (Nelson) Showalter, Nelson (Dawn) Rodes, Glenn (Sheri) Rodes, and Allen (Krista) Rodes, all of Port Republic; 13 grandchildren, Marlan Showalter, Sherman Showalter, Marilla Melcher, Evan Showalter, Gary Rodes, Justin Rodes, Adam Rodes, Kelsie Garber, Cara Rodes, Erica Rodes, Lorna Knicely, Brady Rodes, and Corina Rodes; 18 great-grandchildren; siblings, Wilda Beery of Harrisonburg, Anna Rohrer, and Ward (Sadie) Beery, all of Dayton; sister-in-law, Mary Beery of Dayton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sharla Rodes King; and siblings, Ruth Shirk, David Beery, Mabel Knicley, Joseph Beery, Daniel Beery, Hettie Rohrer, Emory Beery, and Mary Beery.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 10, 2023 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Pike Mennonite Church.
The ministers of the church will conduct a funeral service on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Pike Mennonite Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
