Willie Marvin Stanley, Sr., age 70, of Smithfield died Sunday.
Born in Johnston County on October 14, 1934, he was the son of the late Rother R. and Bessie Johnson Stanley.
A memorial servicewill be held Tuesday at 6:00 PM in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma.
He is survived by a son, Willie Marvin Stanley, Jr. of Kenly; a granddaughter, Jennifer Autumn Ward of Raleigh; a grandson, Brian Stanley of Princeton; three sisters, Doris Jones of Jacksonville, Margaret Lee of Smithfield, and Maxine O'Connell of Raleigh; and three brothers, Sherwood Stanley of Mt. Olive, Jimmy Stanley of Garner, and R.F. "Pete" Stanley of Selma.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the memorial service and at other times at the home of Margaret Lee at 104 E. Underwood Ave., Smithfield, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Smithfield Primitive Baptist Church, c/oMargaret Lee, 104 E. Underwood Ave., Smithfield, NC 27577.
