Lila Alice Collier Caldwell was born September 24, 1930, in Vernal, Utah. She was
the 5th child of Walter and Elizabeth Southam Collier. She passed away on
Monday, October 30, 2023. She graduated from Uintah High School in 1948,
where she excelled in drama, debate, and extemporaneous speech. After
graduation, she attended Brigham Young University. On February 14, 1951, she
married her high school sweetheart, Keith B. Caldwell, in the Salt Lake Temple.
They were the proud parents of 4 children: Keith B. Caldwell, Jr. (Rahnena), Kathy
Winn (Terry), K. Mark Caldwell (Connie), and Kay Lynn Holmes (Mark).

Lila was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She
served in many capacities, including Ward and Stake Primary president and Young
Women president, Ward Relief Society president, and Stake Relief Society
counselor. Lila and Keith served as missionaries in the Nebraska Omaha Mission
and in the Salt Lake City Family History Mission. After returning home, they
served as ordinance workers in the Vernal Utah Temple.

Lila is survived by her children; sisters-in-law Sherry Caldwell Monson (Don) and
Kathleen Caldwell; 21 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-
grandchildren with 1 more on the way.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Keith; parents; brother, Lloyd Collier;
sisters, Nellie Farnsworth (Warren), Wanda Richards (Benjamin), and Winnie
Evans (Arden); brothers-in-law Kenneth, Owen, and Terry Caldwell; grandchildren,
Janessa Caldwell and James Holmes.

Funeral services for Lila will be held Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 12:00 noon at the
Glines Stake Center, (78 South Aggie Blvd, Vernal, Utah). Friends and family may
call Friday, November 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home
and Saturday prior to the services from 10:45-11:45 a.m. Interment will be in
the Maeser Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Phillips Ashley Valley
Funeral Home.
