Mary's grave monument faces west, while all others in that area of the cemetery face east. Why her monument was placed differently than everyone else's is a mystery. According to cemetery records, an infant (presumably Basil Bullard) is buried there with her, but the baby's name is neither on Mary's monument nor on a separate grave marker.
At the time of her death, Mary had living siblings and her mother was alive, as well. Curiously, her Montana obituary makes no mention whatsoever of any of them.

DEATH OF MRS. BULLARD
Mrs. Forrest Bullard died at the Bozeman sanitarium last Monday morning after an illness of several months, death being caused by uremia [kidney failure].
She was the wife of Forrest Bullard, as well-known engineer on the Northern Pacific, who has served on this division for the past 24 years. The family has made their home in Bozeman only during the past year, coming here from Livingston. They have also resided at different times in Helena and Billings.
She is survived by her husband and five children: three daughters, Vera; Ruth; and Margery, and two sons, Forrest and Harold, the oldest of the children being twenty-one and the youngest four.
She was a woman who was highly esteemed by all who knew her, and her death will be a sad blow to her immediate family and a great loss to a large circle of friends. She was a member of the Royal Highlanders and Pythian Sisters.
The funeral was held from the Baptist church last Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. O.P. Bishop conducting the services. Interment was made in the Bozeman Cemetery.

The deceased was born in St. Mary, this county, 41 years ago, and spent her girlhood in this city. She is survived by her husband, an engineer on the Northern Pacific and five children, the youngest being only four months old.
