He was a staff sergeant in the Army during World War II. He served for 30 years in a variety of judicial and law enforcement posts, retiring as a municipal judge. Survivors include his wife; daughters Elsie Miller of Littleton, Nancy Bain of Denver; son William of Englewood; two sisters; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
