**************************
Daniel Aeilts was born December 5, 1951 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Peter Aeilts and Sebina Voortman. He passed away peacefully at the age of 71 on October 29, 2023 in his home surrounded by his family.
Daniel was a very committed family man, devoted to his wife of 52 years, Margie Aeilts, and loved his daughters, Karey Davenport and Amanda Patton.
Daniel's strength, wisdom and good-hearted humor will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He was musically talented, and shared his love of music with his family, playing guitar and singing.
If you knew him, you would know that he could fix anything. He spent his career as a mechanic and his love of cars with those who shared his passion. His garage was his sanctuary, surrounded by his tools and the things that he could count on to get things fixed.
He owned Mustang Auto Wrecking in Reno, NV where he worked closely side by side his nephew LaMont Feske after his first open-heart surgery.
A true patriot and devoted to his country, he served in the United States Navy Seabees beginning April 23, 1971 and was honorably discharged on December 20, 1976. He served active duty in Exmouth, Western Australia and San Diego, CA.
He is watching every step we take and he continues to guide us as he is now reunited in heaven with those who went before him.
Daniel was preceded in death by his father, mother, sisters Janice Overbee and Alaine Mills. He leaves behind his wife Margie, daughter Amanda (Phillip), all of Chico, daughter Karey (Troy), grandson Thomas and granddaughter Hannah of Paradise, sisters Petronella Dowell of Marysville, Verona Aeilts-Rojas of Chico, Mavis Hawkins of Sioux Falls, SD, brothers Darwin Aeilts of Sioux Falls, SD, Tony Aeilts of Tucson, AZ, numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom loved him very much.
Daniel was interred at Chico Memorial Mausoleum near his mother and sister, and was honored for his military service before his placement on November 3, 2023.
