While working at his chosen profession as a pharmacist, he pursued many interests throughout his lifetime. Al became a licensed pilot, a certified scuba diver, and a licensed gunsmith. He also enjoyed boating, photography, and traveling with his wife Daisy.
The last 10 years of his life, he became heavily interested in genealogical research where he became a part of a large group worldwide that were like minded.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Don and Beverly Johnson Dopke; son: Gregory Dopke; and brother: Mel Dopke.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 54 years: Daisy Roberson Dopke; children: Alane (and Gary) Perrigo, Michael (and Evie) Dopke; stepchildren: Linda (and Jim) Nassar, Jerry (and Kathy) Harper; brother: Lee Dopke; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins.
Funeral Services were conducted on Thursday, November 2nd from The Chapel of Goff Funeral Home.
Pastor Steve Looper officiated with interment to follow in the Welch Memorial Cemetery.
