Wife of Maximilian von Mayr and Ludwig Wilhelm, Herzog in Bayern.
Antonie was a daughter of Ludwig Barth and Maria Klara Beyhl.
She became a ballet dancer at the Münchner Hoftheater. Here she met Duke Louis, forty years her senior. Louis was the eldest son of Duke Maximilian of Bavaria and Princess Ludovika of Bavaria and an older brother of the Austrian Empress Elisabeth (Sisi). He had previously forfeited his birthright by morganatically marrying Henriëtte Mendel.
On November 19, 1892, Lodewijk and Antonie got married. Previously, Antonie had been ennobled as Frau von Bartolf. It was not a happy union. Antonie had a younger lover, Maximilian Mayr (1878-1960), from whom she had a daughter in 1913, Hélène Mayr (died in 2006). The birth of this illegitimate child was the reason for Louis to divorce Antonie on July 11, 1913. Almost a year later, Antonie married Hélène's father.
In 1971, Hélène would marry Prince Frederik Christiaan of Schaumburg-Lippe, a loyal supporter of the Nazi ideology from his youth until his death.
