Eldie Ray Abel, age 67, resident of Haskell, OK, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, October 23, 2023, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. He was born on May 15, 1956, in Coweta, OK to Eldie Clifton and Margaret Alice (Harrell) Abel.

Eldie was a proud graduate of Coweta High School. Following his graduation, he served his country with honor and distinction in the United States Air Force. After his military service, Eldie embarked on a successful career as an Airplane Mechanic at American Airlines, where he worked for several years until his retirement. His dedication to his work was evident in his meticulous attention to detail and his commitment to ensuring the safety and comfort of all passengers.

Eldie was a man of many interests, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his family. He was an avid football fan and enjoyed coaching baseball. His love for sports was only surpassed by his love for his family. He married the love of his life, Donna Faye Carpenter, on March 6, 2013, and together they created a home filled with love and laughter.

Eldie is survived by his wife, Donna Abel of the home in Haskell, OK; his mother, Margaret Abel; his daughters, Brandi Yocham and husband Johnny of Haskell, OK and Candace Capps and husband James of Oktaha, OK; his sons, Jayme Carpenter of Porter, OK and Sidney Abel of Haskell, OK; seven grandchildren; his brothers, Audie Abel and wife Charlene of Broken Arrow, OK and Tommy Abel and wife Rena of Haskell, OK; his sister, Annetta Self and husband Jim of Broken Arrow, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Eldie was preceded in death by his father, Eldie Clifton Abel and his son, Brandon Abel.
