Pauline was born in the Saline Mine Area south of Shawneetown on January 14, 1920, to the late Robert and Rosie (Pearson) Williams. On May 9, 1936, she married her true love, Vernal "Mutt" Milligan who preceded her in death in 2003.
Pauline and Vernal moved to St. Charles to work for many years before returning to Shawneetown for retirement.
Pauline was a great cook, loved to garden with her husband and believed so much in the power of prayer, she was a Baptist by faith.
Pauline was a good wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed.
Pauline is survived by two sons, Harl and Jackie Milligan of Kinston, N.C., and Vernal "Butch" and Diane Milligan of Hampshire; two daughters, Marvetta Morris of Elgin and Debra and Wendall Morris of Shawneetown. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers; one sister; one son-in-law, Glen Morris; and a granddaughter, Myra Kinney.
Visitation for Pauline will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2008, at the Cox and Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown. Funeral for Pauline will be 1 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2008, at the Cox and Son Funeral Home in Shawneetown. The Rev. Jerry Seay will officiate and interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery near Equality.
In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to the Bowes In Home Care with envelopes being available at the funeral home.
