"Obituary - Died at his residence in Lincoln County, Miss.,. Sept. 29, 1875, Josiah Price, aged ninety years, two months, and twenty-two days. He was born in Richland District, South Carolina, July 7 1785, moved to Lawrence County, Miss., in 1818. He joined the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in 1864. He was a zealous and faithful member of the church. His last days were his best days. In his death, the church has lost a useful member, and his wife and children an affectionate husband and father, and the community a good citizen."
Like most men of his time, he was a farmer.
