Grace Darling Lee was born on June 6, 1905 at Humboldt, South Dakota to William and Emma (Eckhoff) Lee. Her family moved to Hurley when she was very young and she attended Hurley Public School. She worked for many years in Art Nelson's Store in Hurley, SD.
On February 14, 1958 she was united in marriage to Orville Nelson. They lived for a short time in Canton and Lyons, making their home in Hurley. Her husband Orville died in 1976. She has been a resident of the Pioneer Memorial Nursing Home since 1995.
Surviors include Dennis and Alice Nelson, Waubay, SD, Marlene and Keith Henjum, Lennox, SD, and Mary and Dee Hanson, Sioux Falls, SD; 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren; a special niece, Ruth Davie; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by Donna, her parents, husband and 5 brothers and sisters, Henry Lee, Clarence Lee, Mary Curtis, Ada Lee, and Emma Jongewaard.
