She is survived by her son, Bobby Payne (Veeda), of New Orleans, and her daughter, Deanna Payne Dunlap, of Virginia Beach. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Carson Dunlap, Danielle Payne and Steve Payne (Jennifer).
Betty spent the majority of her life in Norfolk and Virginia Beach enjoying her family, working, and attending church. She was a beloved and active member of Virginia Beach Beacon Baptist Church and always looked forward to hosting her monthly ladies' Bible study. She also enjoyed the exercise classes she faithfully attended at the Virginia Beach Recreation Center.
Betty met her loving husband, Loy, square dancing and they spent many wonderful years dancing locally and traveling to square dance conventions. She loved reading, home projects, and especially being outside gardening. She touched many lives with her sweet spirit, caring nature and generosity. To her family and everyone that knew and loved her, 95 was not long enough.
In celebration of her life, donations may be made to Union Mission Ministries or Meals on Wheels of Virginia Beach.
