Ricky Lynn Davis, age 62, resident of Oakland, Tennessee and husband of Mrs. Darla Vick Davis, departed this life Monday afternoon, October 23, 2023 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Collierville, Tennessee.
Ricky was born November 18, 1960 in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of the late Jerold Dean Davis and Betty Jean Hardin Davis. He graduated from Adamsville High School in 1979 and was married September 11, 1982 to Darla Vick Davis. He was a welder, a certified steam engineer and forklift operator and was employed at Owens Corning Fiberglass and Discover Financial before his retirement.
Ricky was active in many volunteer projects and was a volunteer fireman with Williston Volunteer Fire Department. He was of the Baptist faith and baptized in the river in Moscow, Tennessee at Hickory Grove Baptist Church. Ricky was one of the original founders of Fayette County Youth Soccer Association. He was a jack-of-all-trades and was always hands-on when needed. Ricky enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, NASCAR, family time and cookouts.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife of 41 years, Darla Vick Davis of Oakland, TN; his daughter, Tara Nicole Davis of Memphis, TN; his son, Trevor Cole Davis of Murfreesboro, TN; and four grandchildren, Justin Warren Giles, Riley Austin Beck, Cameron Alexander Hill and Finn Isaac Davis.
A visitation for Mr. Davis will be from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. Thursday, October 26, 2023 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. Funeral Services will be at 1 P.M. Thursday, October 26, 2023 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Danny Bishop, pastor of BB&L Pentecostal Worship Center in Reagan, Tennessee, officiating. Interment will follow in the Mars Hill Cemetery at Leapwood, Tennessee.
