Caden Michael Melerine was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 in Youngsville, LA.

Beloved son of Anna M. Melerine and Brett M. Baylor. Brother of Julien M. Laurent. Grandson of Darlene Melerine Marshall, Jay and Cindy Baylor and the late Manuel Melerine. Great grandson of Betty Marshall, Earl Marshall, Brenda Brooks and the late Riley and Martha Baylor and Norman Brooks, Sr. Nephew of Kelly and Ray Leach and Sean and Wesley Baylor. Also survived by a close family friend Mike Ball and numerous other relatives and friends.

Age 6 years; a native of Slidell and a resident of Youngsville, LA for the past 3 years, he was a 1st grade student at Ernest Gallet Elementary. Caden loved life! He always had the biggest smile on his face like he was the happiest boy on earth. He loved playing outside on his swing or jumping on his trampoline. If he was playing in his room, he was always watching Elmo or Sesame Street. He loved going for rides in the car with his Gran, even if he wasn't going anywhere. Caden's favorite thing was going to school and riding Mrs. Angel's school bus. The most special thing about Caden was that he loved! He was so loving and sweet and he knew no hate. All who were a part of Caden's life are better for knowing him and will truly miss him. Although Caden's autism limited his ability to express himself, we know that God has taken away all of his limitations and he is talking up a storm.

Thanks to the Lafayette Parish and the Youngsville Police Dept.'s along with countless friends and neighbor's for their diligent search for Caden. Thanks to the Doctor's and staff of Women's and Children's Hospital of Lafayette for their valiant efforts. A very special thank you to Kyle Doiroin and Nanette Fuselier. Also, thanks to Caden's teachers and aide's who have known and loved him.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West (in Forest Lawn Cemetery), Slidell, LA, on Friday, October 17, 2008 at 3:00pm.
