Harry Glen "Butch" Hammonds, of Mt Pleasant, passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2023. He was born on November 25, 1946, to Harry Thomas and Edith Aileen Johnson Hammonds in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. Butch was employed for numerous years at Texas Utilities and a member of Highland Park Baptist Church.
Survived by his sister; Gayle Boase of Mt Pleasant, brother; Henry Hammonds and wife Blenda of Mt Pleasant, sister; Louise Fudge and husband Don of Omaha, brother; David Hammonds of Mt Pleasant, numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents; Harry Thomas and Edith Hammonds, wife; Pansy Hammonds.
A funeral service will be held at Bates- Cooper-Sloan Funeral Home in Mt Pleasant on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be one-hour prior service. (10:00-11:00 AM) Bro. Buddy Blue, Bro. Tony Lawson and Bro. Ross Bond will be officiating. A burial will follow at Gladewater Cemetery.
