Age 65, daughter of Mary Louise Dalrymple and Francis Edward Dieteman. Ann was a 1975 graduate of Villa Maria Academy, and attended Gannon College from 1975-1977. She earned an internship at the Pittsburgh Playhouse, and was employed there through 1980, achieving roles in costume and lighting design, set design and construction, management, and production. She graduated from Gannon University in 1981, earning her Bachelor's degree in Theatre and Communication Arts. During her time there, she participated in numerous activities and societies, serving as Secretary and Vice President of Alpha Psi Omega, DJ and talk show host on WERG-FM, and founding little sister of Pi Kappa Alpha. She worked for the Gertrude A. Barber Center for seven years, as a mobility travel trainer, independent living coach, and adult workshop behavior modification group Instructor. Additionally, she taught Child Development, Graphic Communications, and Culinary Arts at Erie County Vocational and Technical school. She put her passions for creativity and adventure to use as an enthusiastic leader of Erie's Boy and Girl Scout troops where she influenced countless young lives. Ann is remembered for her dedication to family and friends, her devotion to her faith, and her vibrant nature.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Charles, her sister Mary Louise, and the love of her life, Richard H. Thayer Jr., married July 13, 1990.

She is survived by her children, Richard H. Thayer III (Josh Copeland), Delia Horn (Robert), Hannah West (Joseph), her step children, Jamie Adams (Chandler), Jordan Keller (Jason), Jacob Thayer (Missi), Joanna Elizabeth Thayer, and her grandchildren. In addition, she is survived by her siblings, David F. Dieteman, M.D. (Leah) and Susan M. Schmitt, and many nieces and nephews.
