Gary H. Green, 80, of Battle Creek, MI passed away peacefully on Monday, October 16, 2023 after a short illness.

He was born in Battle Creek on June 26, 1943 to Stanley R. and Gertrude C. (Green) Green, who preceded him in death. He was a lifelong resident of Battle Creek, graduating with the Harper Creek class of 1961 and working for 36 years for Battle Creek Gas Co./SEMCO before his retirement.

Gary married the former Jacqueline "Jackie" Williams on August 25, 1962 and they recently celebrated their 61st Wedding Anniversary. Survivors include his wife, Jackie; daughter, Traci (David) Parks; son, Michael Green; granddaughters, Ashley Sutherland, Rachel Poe and Ciara (Tyler) Blowers. He also had one great-granddaughter, Annalisia Latty. His brother, Gilbert (Jean) Green; sister-in-law, Sharon (Mike) Cross and brother-in-law, Chuck (Fran) Williams, many nieces, nephews and extended family also survive.

Gary enjoyed many activities that involved working with his hands and thinking things through to resolution. He took great pride in restoring a 1937 Chevy from the ground up and he and Jackie showcased the car at many local events, even getting the opportunity to travel to North Carolina. He also found entertainment in racing and could be found planning some of his activities around the NASCAR races. As a diehard Red Wings Hockey fan, he watched all the games he could during the season. Another favorite pastime of his was to shoot skeet and trap at Bellevue Conservation Club and Centerline of Calhoun County. Gary loved family get togethers, camping, being outdoors and feeding the wildlife that came into the yard. His presence will be greatly missed by his family.

He cherished his time with his three granddaughters and was known to help them with any projects they might bring for him to work on. He recently designed and remodeled the back stairs to the family home. He seemed to always have a solution for any problem!

Cremation has taken place and visitation to honor Gary's life will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm where the family will be present at the Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road in Battle Creek.
