RALPH REECE KILLED IN CAR ACCIDENT

Ralph Reece, aged 25 and who lived on the Dr. Briney farm at Avert, died in a hospital at Memphis last Wednesday from injuries received two days earlier near Harrison Corners, Ark. The body was buried in the Bell City cemetery yesterday morning at ten o'clock where the family formerly lived. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Andrews, pastor of the Methodist church at that place. Besides his wife and two children, the young man is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Reece, who also live at Avert, and four sisters,— Bertha, Clara, Hazel and Alberta.

The deceased was on a visit with a sister who lives in Arkansas last week where he was also seeking work. While driving about the country, he started to turn his car around and in doing so killed the motor. Thinking he had shifted to neutral, he got out and cranked the car which proved to be in gear and before he could get away the car had started forward and ran over him. His injuries were severe and he was rushed to a hospital at Memphis where he died about 30 hours later.
