MILDRED JEAN BABBS, 95 of Oakland, IL formerly of Charleston, IL passed away at 12:00 AM (Midnight) on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at The Oaks Manor in Oakland, IL.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Friday, October 20, 2023, at the Walnut Grove Christian Church, 12930 East CR 1700 North, Arcola, IL. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM on Friday, October 20, 2023, at the Church. Pastor Aaron Boothe will officiate. Burial will be in the Embarrass Cemetery in Redmon, IL. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Mildred was born on August 10, 1928, in Edgar County, IL. She was a daughter of Parker and Eva Irene (Wieland) Marrs. She married Zelora Eugene Dennison on August 30, 1946, in Paris, IL he passed away on October 24, 1975. She later married Jesse J. Babbs on March 25, 1978, in Oakland, IL he passed away on August 14, 2016.

Survivors include her daughter, Deatrice Greathouse (Dale) of Oakland, IL, a son, David Dennison (Helen) of Kenosha, WI, a daughter-in-law, Lynn Dennison (Greg) of Kansas IL, four blended family children, Robert Babbs of Charleston, IL, Linda Nugent (Monte) of Charleston, IL, Brenda Litteken (Michael) of Charleston, IL and Brian Babbs (Jeannette) of Charleston, IL, five grandchildren, Carey Greathouse Monroe (Jon) of Millington MI, Kendall Dennison (Matt) of Fargo ND, Andrew Dennison of Bloomington, IN, Clay Dennison (Kasey) of Hindsboro, IL, and Carol Ann Dennison of Lake, WV, three great grandchildren, Morgan Monroe, Ace Monroe, and Harper Dennison, eight blended family grandchildren, Lisa Peplow (Ken), Cory Benge (Carrie), Angela Edgar (Jed), Jennifer Drago (Dave), Amber Stamm (Jon), Bonnie Bell (John), Kyle Babbs, and Tyler Babbs, 14 blended great grandchildren, Caitlin Kraft, Christopher Miller (Fai), Aaron Miller (Kirstie), Austin Miller, Cashton Benge, Noah Stevenson, Luke Edgar, Logan Lito, Lexi Lito, Julia Stamm, Jayson Stamm, Dylan Bell, Landon Bell, and Brady Babbs, four blended great-great grandchildren, Maci Miller, Cole Miller, Max Miller, and Ava Miller, one brother, Harold Marrs of Oakland, IL and one sister Eva Darlene Dickson of Brocton, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Husbands, Zelora Eugene Dennison, and Jesse J Babbs, one son, Gregory Allan Dennison, blended family granddaughter Mandi Littiken, and Heather Babbs, sister Virginia Swann, and brother Frederick Marrs,

Mildred was a Homemaker and enjoyed sewing, cooking, making noodles and angel food cakes.

Mildred was a member of the Walnut Grove Christian Church. She accepted Christ at a Revival conducted by Rev. Gulman at the United Brethren Church in Borton. She was Baptized at the Horace Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Walnut Grove Christian Church or to Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospice.
