Nancy Emeline Kimzey Campbell and Mary Jane Kimzey Kelso were the daughters of Alexander Armstrong and Jane E. Hill Kimzey. After Nancy died in 1876 her sister Mary Jane and her husband James W. Kelso raised Nancy's daughter Grace. Mary Jane died in August 1880 a week after giving birth to a son who died. After Mary Jane's death her parents raised Grace. Later the family moved to Kansas and Mary Jane's widower James W. Kelso moved with them. He helped the grandparents raise Grace Campbell. He is seen in the 1900 census living with Grace, her husband Jim Ridpath, and their daughter Juanita.

The two Kimzey sisters are buried next to each other in Galum Presbyterian Cemetery near Pinckneyville, Illinois. Their graves are marked only with rocks.Blacksmith
