A. Nancie Bodell (Sibley) was embraced by God on October 19, 2017. She passed away peacefully at home in the presence of her loved ones. Nancie was a treasured Daughter, Mother, Grand-Mother, Great Grand-Mother and Wife. She was the wife of Gilbert Ronald Bodell for over 65 years.

Nancie was born on March 22, 1931 in Pawtucket, RI to her beloved parents, Alice Chadwick Sibley and Royal Dana Sibley.

Together, they raised 7 children and were the most devoted of parents. Nancie graduated with high honors from the University of Rhode Island where she was an active member in the Chi Omega Sorority, and maintained friendships with many of her Chi O Sisters throughout her life. She pursued a Graduate Degree in Child Development from Rhode Island College.

A lifelong Episcopalian, Nancie worshipped at Saint Luke's in Pawtucket, RI St. Mark's in Warwick, RI, Ascension in South Kingstown, RI, and Bethesda- by-the-Sea in Palm Beach, Florida. She was an active Vestry and Altar Guild Member throughout her life. In further devotion to the Episcopal Church, Nancie served for many years as a Volunteer and Board Member at the St. Elizabeth Communities.

Nancie is best known for her beautiful smile, her welcoming and accepting character, her warm hospitality and her extraordinary ability to always say the right thing to make people feel special. Everyone who met her always wanted to see her again. She was a constant and abiding source of inspiration and wisdom to her children, grandchildren and many lifelong friends. In keeping with her compassionate, kind and nurturing character, Nancie was a caregiver to numerous well-loved animals, beginning with her childhood dog Pal. Nancie's imprint on her children, 15 grandchildren, 2 great grand-daughters and everyone whose lives she touched will be everlasting.

A private funeral was held.
