Mother of 10 Children Dies at White Station Home
Mrs. Mary Ann Stewart Dees, wife of the late James Marshall Dees, died at 7:25 o'clock yesterday morning at her home in White Station after an illness of the past week. She was 80 years of age.
Born in Monroe, N. C., Mrs. Dees came to Tennessee with her father, J. W. Stewart, the year after the Civil War and had lived much of her life in Madison County. She was a devout member of the Church of Christ.
Surviving her are 10 children, Mrs. Hollis Scott and Ellis Dees of Buntyn, G. M., Manley A. and Stanley Dees of Jackson, Tenn., Mrs. Tom Davis and Mrs. Willie Wright of Enville, Tenn., C. P. and Miss Jennie Dees of Memphis and Mrs. R. L. Leopard of Rickman, Tenn.;
two brothers, Joe Stewart of Enville and Bob Stewart of Jacks Creek, Tenn., and three sisters, Miss Adaline Stewart, Mrs. Sallie Howell and Mrs. Caroline Thompson, all of Enville.
Funeral services will be held at the residence in White Station at 10 o'clock this morning with the Rev. G. C. Brewer officiating, and again at 4 o'clock this afternoon at Central Church of Christ in Jackson, Tenn., where the body will be taken overland. Burial will be in Ridgecrest Cemetery at Jackson. National Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
