She was born Thanksgiving Day 1916, in Hilltop, Oklahoma, to Elonzo and Tisha Ellis. At age six, after her mother preceded her in death, she moved back to the farm of her grandparents. She graduated from Stuart High School, and was valedictorian of her class. She married Archie Parks and they had one child. In late 1939, they moved to the bay area in California. Her first job was on roller skates at Montgomery Ward in Oakland, Calif. After 25 years, she went on to be general manager of Bullock's Department Store until her retirement in 1972. She remarried in 1961 to Al Bache and they moved to Oregon. After 20 years, they decided to move to McAlester to be closer to her family. After her husband and daughter preceded her in death, she moved to California with her grandsons. She was a lifetime member of the Christian Advent Church and the Fraternal Order of the White Shrine of the Eastern Star, of which she was past supreme worthy high priestess. Both she and her husband were proud of, and enjoyed, their activities and duties with the Masons. She passed away at her home at the age of 91. She was preceded by her parents, Tisha and Elonzo Ellis; both her husbands, and her daughter, Jo Ann. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hilltop Cemetery, west of Stuart, with the Rev. Stephanie Swiennea officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service of McAlester.
