Wendell "Glen" Nix, age 88, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, October 13, 2023 at his home.

Glen was born May 26, 1935 in Macomb, Oklahoma, to Louie and Mae Adams Nix.

He was raised in Macomb and graduated from Macomb High School.

Glen married the love of his life, Jaqueta (Hunt) Nix on September 10, 1955.

He served with the Shawnee Fire Department for 25 years and retired as Battalion Chief.

He enjoyed hunting, drift fishing and being at the lake. He enjoyed trips to Colorado where he spent many summers at their cabin. He was a member of the Macomb Masonic Lodge. He was a ham radio operator and enjoyed communicating with other operators.

Glen is preceded in death by; his parents; Louie Nix, and Mae Woolery, his wife Jaqueta Nix, his son-in-law; Randy Childers,

He is survived by 2 daughters; Kathy Childers of Bethel Acres, and Glenna McElhany and husband Rick of Shawnee, 4 grandchildren; Kyle Childers and wife Loretta, Kris Childers and wife Amy, Jessica Schoeling and husband Doug, and Steven McElhany and fiance Ariana Ochoa, 6 great-grandchildren; Kole Childers, Kai Childers, Konner Childers, Kapri Childers, Tatum Schoeling, and Reed Schoeling, and loving extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 16, 2023 and continue through service time. Service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Larry Sparks, Blackburn Chapel Baptist Church, Bethel Acres, OK officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
