Lawrence E. Allen, 68, Rt. 1, LaGrove, died in the Wabash County Hospital at 9:28 this morning after an extended illness.
The son of Emmett and Goldie Estes Allen, he was born August 6, 1907, in Elwood. He had been a resident of Wabash County for twenty-five years.
A farmer, he was married in Elwood on March 22, 1933, to Greeta Etchison. He was a member of the LaGrove Methodist Church.
Surviving are his widow, Greeta Etchison Allen of LaGrove; a son,two daughters; a brother Walter of Elwood and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Eddingfield-Gerber Mortuary, 231 Fall Avenue, Wabash. The Rev. Garland Colclesser will officiate the service, and burial will be in the Elwood City Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home anytime after 2 p.m. Wednesday.
