Clisby volunteered for service in CSA and served with Greens Brigade COD 7th Texas Cavalry. He had six sons and one or more son in laws to serve in the Civil War. Two sons came back from service.

Tib lived at Jones Prairie in Polk County Texas in 1846, then moved back to Magnolia Arkansas area for several years before settleing in Angelina Co Texas in 1857.
