Clyde Whitman "Whit" Dixon, 94, passed away Tuesday (October 10, 2023) at the Hospice House Satilla following a short illness.

He was born in Appling County to the late Clyde Calvin Dixon and Louise Aspinwall Dixon. He was employed with Phelps and PET Dairy for 34 years and served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was also a member of Second Baptist Church and the Ware County Touchdown Club.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Leona Morgan Dixon; daughter, Ora Lee Lowman; two brothers, James Edward "Ed" Dixon and J. Walter "Pete" Dixon; two sisters, Elizabeth Dixon Platt and Marlene Coward Dixon; a step-brother, David Soloman; and a step-sister, Edna Faye Soloman.

He is survived by his children, Johnny Todd (wife Joan) of Waycross and Millie Brume (husband Dennis) of Atlanta; five grandchildren, Terry Sweat (wife Cathy), Gary Sweat, Jennifer Mosley (husband Chuck), Janna Strickland (husband Shannon), and Joseph Brume (wife Kirsten); numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; two sisters, Patti Maxey of Odum, GA and Betty Jo Middleton of Waycross; a step-sister, Maxene Soloman; and two half-sisters, Clyde Carol Usher-O'Neill (husband Ray) of Midway, GA and Sharon Dixon Martin (husband Buddy) of Screven, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday (October 14, 2023) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. The family will begin receiving friends at the funeral home on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
