Sondra Ann Wilson, 76, of Oronogo, Missouri, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 8, 2023, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri, following months of failing health. She was born on August 30, 1947, in Webb City, Missouri, to the late Richard and Illa (Warren) Mahurin.

Sondra was a graduate of Webb City High School, class of 1965. She continued her education at MSSC in Joplin, furthering her knowledge and skills. Besides being a devoted homemaker, she worked for several years at Labarge in Joplin, where she retired as stockroom supervisor in August 1992.

A devoted member of the Alba Christian Church, Sondra's faith was integral to her life. She was also a regular visitor to the Carthage Y, where she enjoyed connecting with friends and staying active. Her creative side shone through in her love for drawing and arts and crafts, and she was always eager to share her latest project with her loved ones.

Sondra was a selfless and generous woman, always putting others before herself. Her home was a welcoming place, where friends and family were always greeted with warmth and love. She was a mother to all, known for her nurturing spirit and kindness. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, and she cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Colton Wheatlot, Sondra leaves behind a legacy of love and family. She is survived by her devoted husband of fifty-six years, Jerry Wilson; her children, Mark Wilson and his wife, Debbie, Nichole Worthy and her husband, Rod, and Keith Wilson and his wife, Charlene, all of Oronogo, Missouri; and her foster daughter, Payge Smith of Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Her memory will be cherished by her six grandchildren, Joshua, Shaun, Kanessha, Kricket, Alex, and Morgan; her five great-grandchildren; and her two brothers, Rick Mahurin and Dennis Mahurin, both of Webb City.

Sondra's life was a testament to the power of love, generosity, and faith. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those she touched. Her family and friends will remember her for her creative spirit, her selfless love, and her unwavering dedication to her family. Sondra Ann Wilson will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and generosity will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Alba Christian Church. Private interment will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Webb City. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home in Webb City, Missouri.
