Born at Mountainside Hospital in Glen Ridge, NJ on February 4, 1939, to Rose (Intile) and Dominick Rodano, Dennis and his brothers Thomas and Joseph were raised in Montclair, N.J.

A 1958 graduate of Montclair High School, he went on to pursue a career in fashion and attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC where, in 1959, he received an Award of Merit in the Second Bergdorf Goodman Tournament of Fashion. He would later attend Pratt Institute in Brooklyn where he studied interior design. His keen eye and talent for designing spaces that were both beautiful as they were functional eventually led to his opening his own interior design business, Designer's Concept Inc. on Bloomfield Avenue in Verona in 1971.

In 1961 he was drafted into the US Army and proudly served in the infantry at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He was honorably discharged on November 22, 1963, hours before President Kennedy was assassinated.

In 1965 he went on a blind date with Rose whom he would marry on June 5, 1966, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Orange, New Jersey. They began their life together in a small three (and later five) room apartment in Verona, where they started their family in 1969 with the birth of twin boys Dennis Jr. and Sabino and welcomed their son Matthew in 1971. In 1973 they moved their young family to North Caldwell a community the family still calls home today. Dennis and Rose loved entertaining family and friends, around the pool in the summer and their dining room table was always elbow-to-elbow for the holidays. Dennis enjoyed baking and friends and family loved his seasonal cakes and pies, but he was known for the homemade cannoli at Christmas. Dennis and Rose were active members of Notre Dame Parish in North Caldwell.

Dennis was predeceased by his devoted wife of 54 years Rose (nee DeRogatis), his loving parents, Louis and Rose Saporito, and his father and mother in-law, Gennaro and Assunta DeRogatis.

He was the brother of the late Peter Pilotti, Thomas Rodano and Louis Saporito, Jr. He was also the brother-in-law to the late Antoninette Marucci and Anna Stumpo.
