Early Wednesday morning the life of W P Henry of Cold Springs neighborhood was stilled in death. William Pyatt Henry was born March 14, 1879 and departed this life May 6, 1936, aged 66 years, 1 month and 22 days.
He was married to Stacy Hyder in 1897, who preceded him in death October 22, 1935.
Mr Henry was a member of one of Cumberland county's oldest families, his forefathers being among the first settlers. He was a quiet and highly respected citizen and enjoyed the esteem and confidence of all who knew him.
Mr Henry is survived by 3 daughters, Miss Florence Henry, Mrs Lionel Tabor and Mrs Everett Jones; 4 sons, J M, Fred, Dallas and J H Henry.
Funeral services were held at his home at 10 a.m. Thursday with Rev A Nightingale presiding; he will be buried on his farm.
