Harry L. Hamilton

Harry L. Hamilton, 69, formerly of Warriors Mark R.D. 1, died at 6:25 a.m. Thursday, May 27, 1993, at the Centre Crest Nursing Home, following an extended illness.

Born Jan. 14, 1924, in Tyrone, he was a son of the late Robert N. and Sara (McNeal) Hamilton. He was married to the former Erma Confer on March 16, 1947, in Stormstown.

Surviving are his wife, at their home; five children: Jody Parker, Barry L. Hamilton and Jeffrey A. Hamilton, all of Warriors Mark R.D. 1; Robert L. Hamilton, Loganton; and James J. Hamilton, Quakertown; and 12 grandchildren.

Also surviving are a sister, Louise Barto of Tyrone R. D. 4, and a brother, Ira Hamilton, Albuquerque, N. M.

Mr. Hamilton attended the Ross United Methodist Church, Marengo.

He was a member of American Legion Post 536, Port Matilda.

For 35 years, until his retirement in 1983, Mr. Hamilton had worked at Penn State University as a caretaker of small animals.

A veteran, Mr. Hamilton served from Jan. 11, 1945, until Oct. 31, 1946, as a heavy-duty truck operator with the U.S. Army's 3rd Armor Center Company, Field Artillery Battalion, in Germany.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 29, at the Bruce E. Cox Funeral Home, Warriors Mark, with the Rev. Stevan W. Atanasoff officiating. Private interment will be made in Ross Cemetery, Marengo.

Friends may call at the funeral home this evening (Friday), from 7-9 p.m., and Saturday, from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service.

Memorial contributions, in remembrance of Harry L. Hamilton, may be given to the Ross United Methodist Church, c/o Eddie Barto, R. D. 1, Warriors Mark, Pa. 16687
