Roger Milton Byers, 76, of Flat Rock, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2023.

A man who lived life to the fullest. He loved his family and his friends. He was larger than life both in stature and personality. Roger was a giving man who took care of so many, whether it was family, friends, or friends of his children. From skating rink weekends, lake house trips, vacations, and meals out at restaurants, Roger was unselfish in his willingness to give those experiences to everyone around him. A devoted husband and father who has left a legacy of giving and love. He was a successful businessman and entrepreneur. His biggest joy in life was his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Estelle Fore Byers; a brother, Kenneth and his wife Judy; two sisters, Mary McClung and her husband Jack, and Louella Suttles; Brother-in-law, Tom Sumner, Tarell Grant.

Left behind to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Shirley Waldrop Byers; a son, Anthony Byers and his wife, Dusty; a daughter, Charlene Nix and her husband, Mark; four grandchildren, Mason Nix, Tucker Byers, Potter Byers, and Gracie Nix; two sisters, JoAnn Grant and Pamela Sumner; brother-in-law, Dan Suttles; his devoted brother-in-law, Michael Waldrop; numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be at 2PM Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Hendersonville Seventh Day Adventist Church with Dr. Randy Tryon officiating. The family will receive friends from 12-2:00PM Sunday at the church. Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
