Cpl. Edward Price Killed In Korea
Had Been In Korea For Seven Months

Mr. and Mrs. Cecil L. Price, of 3035 Greenwood avenue, were informed this week that their son, Marine Cpl. Robert Edward Price, was killed in action in Korea July 22.

The Marine's stepmother, Mrs. Price, said the family learned of young Price's death Wednesday by telegram. The cause of death was not stated. The telegram said the body had not been found.

Corporal Price's last letter to his family was written in June from a hospital in Korea. In the letter he told them he was preparing to return to the battlefield but he planned to be home soon for about six months.

He had been fighting in Korea with the 1st Marine Division since January 16, except for time spent, in a hospital recovering from battle concussion and burns.

Corporal Price, age 20, graduated from Drew High School where he was an outstanding football and baseball player. He entered service a short while after he finished high school. He was reared in Flora and his mother was the late Lucile Davis Price. He is surivived by a brother, Cecil Ray Price, and a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Wallace, both of Jackson.
