Jimmy Lavan Butler was born in Holbrook, Arizona to Robert Lavan Butler and Jimmie Jean Finney on December 12th, 1946. He passed away peacefully at his home in Dripping Springs, Arizona on October 2nd, 2023.

Jimmy was a lifelong cowboy. Out of high school, Jimmy joined the Air Force and did a tour in Vietnam. After being discharged from the Air Force, he moved around cowboying/ ranching all around Arizona taking his wife and girls along for the ride. In 1980, Jimmy and Sheila moved home to Dripping Springs where he worked as a boilermaker at the Christman Mine until it's closing. He then went to work at Copper Basin Railroad as a car repairman/ welder/ fabricator until he retired.

Jimmy loved his entire family, and his favorite was to go camping, trapping, hunting, and fishing. His family was his world.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his father Robert Lavan Butler, his mother Jimmie Jean Finney, and his grandson Dally Michael Bray.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Sheila. His brothers Brent (Jeannie) Butler, Scott (Helen) Cooley and Cene (Ronda) Cooley. His daughters Dawn (Wayne) Bray, Jodie Ross (Drew Justice) and Bobbie Butler (Robbie Sheppard, 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren with 2 on the way.

Dad was a legend in our eyes and will forever be missed!!
