She was born in Buncombe County, NC and was the wife of 44 years of Marvin Fred Schulte and was the daughter of Horace and Bertha Penland Fletcher. She was preceded in death by three sisters, one brother and a grandson; Mark Hughes.
She was a typesetter for the Baltimore Paper and managed the layout for the Mt. Holly paper, managed the lounge at the Stecker Hotel in New Jersey.
She loved to travel, was a great cook, and was a fun loving person.
Burial: Western Carolina State veterans Cemetery.
