"Services Here Today for Opal Jennings. Funeral services for Opal Ada Denney Jennings, 86, of Milan, Ill., will be held at 10 A.M. today (Thursday) at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with burial to be in Ava Cemetery.
Mrs. Jennings died Saturday, May 9, at Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley, Ill.
Born November 22, 1905 at Ava, she was the daughter of William Smile and Clara Montana Silence Denney. She married John Raymond Jennings on May 12, 1927, in Missouri. He preceded her in death on March 2, 1992.
She gave her heart and life to God in Feb. 1928, and united with Mt. Calvary Church near Ava. She was a homemaker all her life. She enjoyed singing, dewing, quilting, gardening and her family.
Surviving are a son and his wife, Stanley and JoAnn Jennings, of Milan, Ill.; one sister, Bessie Staley, of Pottsboro, Texas; two granddaughters, Tarri Lee Shannon, of Milan, Ill., and Paula Joe Tate, of Galesburg, Ill.; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews."
