Oroville Mercury-Register, Friday, August 26, 1960: Millie V. Adelman, 64, of Chico, died Wednesday in a Paradise rest home, after a two-month illness. She was born in Iowa and came to Oroville in 1953. She lived here until 1958, when she moved to Chico.

Mrs. Adelman is survived by her husband, Henry Adelman; four sisters, Mrs. Adie Pearson, and Mrs. Ada Barlow, both of Mason City, Ia.; Mrs. Grace Johnson, of Jackson Fla.; and Mrs. Myrtle Edwards, of South San Francisco; five brothers, Ed Bowder, of Fairmont, N.D., Fred Bowder, of Jamestown, N.D.; Archie Bowder, of Los Angeles, Clarence Bowder, of Lagunitas, and James Bowder, of Jamestown, N.Y.; a son [sic: stepson], Lyle Adelman, of Los Angeles; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Christian Service Society Chapel in Chico. The Rev. Mr. Nathan McFarland of the Apostolic Gospel Temple officiating. Burial will be in Christian Service Society cemetery.
