Bobby Joe Burch, 93, joined his beloved wife, Helen, in God's heavenly kingdom on Friday, September 22, 2023. He was born June 6, 1930, to Pete and Esther Burch in Wills Point Texas.

Bob attended Tulsa University, and it was in Tulsa where he met the love of his life, the woman who would stand by his side through thick and thin, Helen Maxine Crain. They were married February 20, 1954, and raised three daughters, Theresa, Tonya, and Tara.

Bob proudly served in the Army Rangers and fought in the Korean War. His jump wings were one of his prized possessions. You might have heard a story or two about his parachute training and parachute drops into the battle zones of Korea.

Upon leaving the military, Bob came back to Texas to begin his career in sales. Bob, Helen and their girls moved many times while in Texas until Bob was offered a promotion with International Harvester and moved the family to Arlington Heights, Illinois. Bob became one of the top producers for International Harvester which was not unnoticed by Ford Motor Company. After living in Illinois for 5 years, Bob was offered his own dealership with Ford and Raleigh, North Carolina became the new family home. Some years later Bob and Helen moved to Seagrove Beach, Florida and even though Bob was retired he continued to share his expertise in selling big rigs and running a dealership with Peachstate Ford.

Bob was an avid golfer who was proud to have shot 2 holes in one! He had a good sense of humor, sharp mind, and natural charisma to make friends no matter the situation, and these characteristics also made him a success in his business life. Bob always had stories to share, some factual and others perhaps a bit embellished, but they were always entertaining.

When Helen passed away in 2006, Bob found a loving partner in Judy Hess with whom he spent 16 happy years in the San Antonio area. They enjoyed many good times together and Bob had more people in his family to love and tell his stories to!

Bob was a truly great man who accomplished much in his life and is leaving a legacy of love and respect that will be forever felt by his family, who love him dearly. His ability to sacrifice, provide, support, forgive, and love will be forever engrained in all he knew.

Bob, who was a loving and devoted husband, partner, father, and grandfather is survived by his daughters, Theresa and her partner James, Tonya and her husband Tim, and Tara and her husband Dennis; grandchildren Tyler (wife Carrin), Lauren, Matthew, Brandon, and Justin.

A graveside service will take place at 12 noon on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at Ridgeview West Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer's Association or ASPCA.
