Peggy Joyce Gipson Partin, age 85 of Decherd, passed away peacefully at her residence on September 24, 2023. Peggy was born on May 26, 1938, in Decherd, TN to the late Bill (Annie) Stephens and Jo (Odell) Smith. She retired from Walmart after many years of service and was a dedicated homemaker. In her younger years, she enjoyed sewing her daughters' dresses, reading, fishing, and watching the Atlanta Braves, Hallmark, or the Game Show Network. Most of all, cherished the time spent with her family and friends. Peggy was a member of the White Oak Grove Church of God. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, J.C. Gipson and Lyman Partin, and sister, Bonnie Morris. Peggy is survived by her daughters, Lola Walls, Belinda Gipson, Kathy (Steve) Walls, Jeanne (Jackie) Branch; step-daughter, Brenda Lee; grandchildren, Paula (Frank) Sabo, Laura (Billy) Isbell, Lisa (Greg) Madsen, Jamie (Tammy) Walls, Stephanie (Bryan) Chapin, Michele (Michael) Stephens, Dustin (LeAnn) Henley, Devon (Sherrie) Henley, Derrick (Hannah) Everett; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; siblings, Jody Radley, Sammy (Shirley) Stephens, and Richard (Wanda) Stephens; several nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, from 5:00pm – 8:00pm at Watson Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at 11:00am from the chapel of Watson Funeral Home with Bro. Jonathan Blaser and Bro. Gordon Lee officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens with Cage Sabo, Derrick Everett, Michael Stephens, Jamie Walls, Greg Madsen and Bryan Chapin all serving as pallbearers.
