Susan K. (Bender) Albrecht, 83, of Portsmouth, died peacefully in her sleep at Hillview Retirement Center on Friday, September 22, 2023. She was the eldest of three daughters born to Nona Bender Delabar and Wells Bender. She was born in Kansas City, Missouri on June 9, 1940. Sue was a graduate of Portsmouth High School in 1959 and played multiple sports in the intermural leagues: softball, basketball, volleyball, ping pong and bowling. She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather Robert Delabar, sister Judy Ann, son in law Steven, and special companion "Emma". She is survived by husband of 64 years Jerrold, and children Tim (Lisa) Albrecht, Beth Biars, Michael (Becky) Albrecht, and Marjorie (Kevin) Underwood. Grandchildren Stephanie (Steven) Staker, Kimberly (J.D.) Shaw, Sarah Albrecht, Corinne (fiancé Tent Walter) Albrecht, Jared Albrecht, Brooke (Chris) George, Brittany (Rusty) Foskett, Ayden Albrecht, Ashley (Brittany Kinney) Underwood, Kurtis (Kasey) Underwood, and 13 great grandchildren. Sue is also survived by her youngest sister Linda Bibb, stepbrothers Mark and Dave Delabar and multiple nieces and nephews. She was a buyer at Marting's Dept. Store and enjoyed trips to Las Vegas and New York until it closed then, began a second career as a biller for SOMC ARU where she retired at 75 years old.
