A 1963 graduate of Riverside High School, Painesville Township, she had enjoyed rollerskating, horseback riding, swimming in the Grand River and bowling in her youth. She married John Farrell on October 7, 1972 in Grace Lutheran Church, Thompson. They celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary together at Madison Heathcare in October of 2022. One of Sandy's great loves was sharing her love of horses with her niece, Kelly, and husband. Sandy and John enjoyed taking Kelly to many horse shows, especially NEOHA and the The Appaloosa Breed Shows.
