In 1880, Payne then a widower at age 86, was living in Henderson with his daughter, Virginia Posey, and her family.

Gravesite Details
Gravestone no longer exists. Documentation of burial site not found at time of memorial posting. Since he lived and died in the same town, it is presumed he was buried near his father, step-mother, several siblings, children and other relatives.
