Iris Ruth (Middleton) Truett was born January 14, 1950 in Clay County and departed this life Monday, September 18, 2023 at her daughters' residence in Richmond at the age of 73. She was the daughter of the late Coburn & Fannie (Eversole) Middleton.
Ruth is survived by two daughters, Robin Rice of Richmond and Randi Jessica Rice of Louisville. She is also survived by four sisters, Phyllis Cole of McKee, Janie Seals of Richmond, Irene Hobbs & Eddie of Berea and Sue Hobby & Don of Richmond. She was blessed with five grandchildren, April Rice, Josh Rice, Zackary Rice-Gordon, Iris Jaylee Rice and Ayden James Switzer and by three great-grandchildren, Taylor Young, Eli Colby Isaacs and Merek Evan Gage Rice and by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was also preceded in death by her son, James Coburn Rice; by her sister, Peggy Allen and by her brother, Randall Middleton.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, September 22, 2023 at the Nantz Cemetery at Tyner.
