She was born in Acworth, Georgia on September 15, 1946, the daughter of the late Robert M. Banks and the late Bettie Mariah Arnold Banks. She had worked as a packer in the food industry with Unilever. Sarah was a remarkable woman of Faith that always put her family and friends above herself. Her family meant the world to her. She was compassionate, selfless and she always made you feel welcome in her home. She was a member of the Douglasville First Church of the Nazarene and she also loved her church family.
Sarah is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Robert Parlier, Barnesville, Georgia, Joseph Parlier, Bowdon, Georgia, Gregory and Lisa Parlier, Temple, Georgia, daughters and son-in-law, Penny Freeman, Bowdon, Georgia, Tracy and Jason Leonard, Villa Rica, Georgia; grandchildren, Marcus, Jacob, Joshua, Gage, RC, Devin, Shelton, Robert, Jesa, Kyle, Jordon, Keltrye, Landon, Payth, Hunter, Kevin and Gavin; and great grandchildren, Trevor, Gunner, Farrah, Lexie, Raeleigh, Tegan, Andrew, Archer and Asher.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband and love of her life of fifty-four years, Calvin Owen Parlier, and siblings, J. D. Banks, Tommy Banks, Ray Banks, Harold Banks, Gladys Morgan and Mary Silvers.
The family will receive friends at Whitley Garner at Rosehaven on Thursday, September 21, 2023 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.
The funeral service is planned on Friday, September 22, 2023, 11:00 a.m. in the Rosehaven Chapel with Dr. Steven Callis officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta, Georgia.
