Born February 8, 1947, in Waycross, she was the daughter of William Oscar and Louise Jeffords Booth. After Billie graduated from Ware County High School in 1965, she established a career as a bookkeeper. A career which brought many lifelong friends into her life, Billie worked at Winn-Dixie and The Jones Company until she retired due to health reasons. She enjoyed baking, shopping, helping people and especially celebrating the Christmas holiday.
Billie was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, James Randal Booth.
Throughout the journey of her illness, which began in 2001, she defined resilience and perseverance for those in her life. She was a kind and thoughtful soul who will be missed and remembered by the many lives she touched. She was also strong-willed and stubborn, but those traits contributed to what defined Billie. They were a part of who she was, and her strength undoubtedly helped her deal with any kind of challenge that came her way. Billie was a strong fighter, but she is now sailing on a journey to shores that we cannot see. We know that she is free from pain and is rejoicing with the Lord in her eternal body and heart free of disease, pain and limitations.
Billie is survived by her husband of 47 years, Mike Sikes; her daughter, Stephanie Bryant Gill (Larry) of Offerman; seven grandchildren, Brandy Gill of Patterson, Jennifer Chancey of Blackshear, Sarah Sharp (Sammy) of Blackshear, Nicki Davis (Drew) of Waycross, Robert Hoff Jr. (Kay) of Nahunta, Samantha Davis (Brandon) of Patterson and Taylor Gill of Waycross; twelve great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jerry Booth (Sandy), Steve Booth and Tiny Booth, all of Waycross; one sister, Pat Monds of Perry, GA; a sister-in-law, Joyce Tanner (Charles) of Middleburg, FL; her beloved cat, Mittens; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Kettle Creek Cemetery in Waycross. Guests are encouraged to wear any shade of purple to the funeral in honor of Billie's favorite color. The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday evening at Music Funeral Home from 6 until 8 o'clock.
Pallbearers will be Steve Booth, Jerry Booth, Chip Tanner, Jimmy Dale McGauley, Edward Grantham and Dustin Booth. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Ware County High School Class of 1965.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any memorial donations be made to Hospice House Satilla in honor of Billie.
