Mary Ann Jennings, 69, of Lafayette, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2012, at 3:10 p.m. at St. Elizabeth East. Mary Ann was born on August 11, 1942, in Lafayette to the late Francis Elmer and Bertha May Williams Drake. Mary Ann graduated from East Tipp High School where she was active in the Art Club. She worked as a presser for local dry cleaners. Mary Ann enjoyed playing darts, computer games, drawing and spending time with family.
Surviving is one daughter, Teresa Drake-Evans; and one son, Jack "Dean" Sliger, both of Lafayette. Also surviving is one sister, Joan (husband: Wayne) Boyd, of Pyrmont; six brothers, Fred (wife: Maxine) Stinebaugh, of Ft. Scott, Kan., Charles (wife: Shirley) Drake, of Lafayette, Robert "Bob" (wife: Judy) Drake, of Lafayette, Jim (wife: Nancy) Drake, of Phoenix, Ariz., Bill Drake, of Lafayette, and Larry Drake (companion: Angel Jones), of Lafayette; and five grandchildren, Kayla Drake, Marissa "Missy" Drake, Justin King, Leanna Walters and Kira Sliger, all of Lafayette.
Mary Ann is preceded in death by one brother, Paul Thompson; and one daughter, Deborah Lyn Drake.
Services will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior at Simplicity Funeral Care.
